Vivian Gallaway led UC Davis women's tennis in a 2-5 loss to Long Beach State on Sunday, Mar. 8.
COURTSIDE
- Three of the six singles courts went to three sets, with the Aggies winning two of the three.
- Court three on doubles also went to extras, being decided by two points.
- On court two in the singles round, Mika Ikemori took set one to the distance before falling in two.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite the doubles loss, Aileena Hu and Kaia Wolfe took their opponent to the distance with a close 6-8 tiebreaking loss in the third court.
- Vivian Gallaway got things going early in singles with a hard fought three set victory, sweeping the third set 6-0 to put the contest within one.
- Ikemori took her opponent to a tiebreaker to start her match, but would ultimately fall in two in the second court.
- Marakhtanova ended the day with a 10-8 win to secure the second Aggie point, but the team would lose 2-5 to the Beach.
