UC Davis Men’s Tennis Set To Host Golden State Tennis Invitational This Weekend

DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis men's tennis returns home this week to host the Golden State Invitational at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. The Aggies will play three matches over two days, beginning with a doubleheader Friday, Mar. 6, against Portland and New Mexico State.

UC Davis will conclude the tournament Saturday, Mar. 7, with a single match against Saint Mary's.

GAME NOTES
  • Aggie Tennis will have its first-ever full season with a brand-new scoreboard, kindly donated by the Khourie family.
  • Senior Lucas Bollinger made it all the way to the final match at the UCSB Fall Classic.
  • The pair of Rithvik Kaptpelly and Perry DiGiulio made it to the semifinals at the UCSB Fall Classic.
  • Lucas Bollinger was invited to compete at the 2025 Division I ITA Sectional Championship after a standout
  • fall season. He will compete for a chance to be selected to the NCAA individual championships.
  • Many Aggies had standout performances at the Aggie Invite, recording many semifinal and final matches.
  • Lucas Bollinger won the flight A final match against Luca Vilchis (Santa Clara).
  • Bollinger is undefeated in singles after the first two matches of the season.
  • Senior Bollinger remains undefeated after five matches.
  • Sophomores Kaveh Taheri and Perry DiGiulio were the two other singles winners in the loss against Saint Mary's.
  • Four out of six Aggies won their singles matches to take down rival Sacramento State.
  • Senior Bollinger went undefeated in his matches against Pacific at home.
  • Sophomore Perry DiGiulio went 3-0 in doubles and 2-1 in singles throughout the weekend against LMU, Utah State, and Hope International.
  • UC Davis picked up straight sets win at No. 2 singles in its match at San Diego State.
  • The Aggie pair of Perry DiGiulio and Kaveh Taheri posted three wins to advance to the Round of 16 at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championships. Freshmen Nadaul Cheam and Dylan Paterson won the consolation draw final on the final day of the match.
SEASON NOTES
  • Veteran Leadership: The 2025 squad features an experienced upper class led by senior Lucas Bollinger, junior Eduardo Gonzalez, and Kurt Miller.
  • Head Coach Eric Steidlmayer returns for his 14th season. He has been instrumental in recruiting and scouting while helping UC Davis thrive in his tenure.
  • Assistant Coach Lucas Burger returns for his second season with the Aggies after a successful debut season.
