DAVIS, Calif. – UC Davis men's tennis put together a strong all-around performance Saturday afternoon at the Marya Welch Tennis Center, defeating Illinois State 5-2. The Aggies controlled the match early and maintained momentum throughout singles play to secure the home victory.

• UC Davis secured the doubles point with wins from Ivan Savkin/Dylan Paterson and Kaveh Taheri/Perry DiGiulio

• The Aggies won four singles matches to seal the 5-2 team victory

• Kaveh Taheri earned a three-set win to highlight the singles performances

HOW IT HAPPENED

• UC Davis opened the afternoon by taking the doubles point. Savkin and Paterson battled to a 7-6 win on the top court

• Taheri and DiGiulio followed with a 6-4 victory to secure the early advantage

• Taheri earned a hard-fought three-set win in singles, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3

• Nadual Cheam posted a straight-sets victory, 6-4, 6-2

• Savkin added another point with a 6-4, 7-5 result

• Eduardo Gonzalez rounded out the scoring with a 6-4, 6-3 win.
