The short story: UC Davis turned in multiple event wins against Fresno State, highlighted by McKenna Valenta's victory in the 200-yard freestyle and a first-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay. 

POOL SIDE

• McKenna Valenta captured first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.99.

• UC Davis won the 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing first in 3:22.21.

• The Aggies swept the top two spots in the 400-yard IM, with Brynn Graham taking first and Zoe Childers finishing second.

• Emily Scheberies placed second in both the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke.

• UC Davis placed second and third in the 50-yard freestyle behind Naomi Boegholm and Sophi MacKay.
   

HOW IT HAPPENED

• UC Davis opened the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley relay.

• Valenta set the tone in the 200-yard freestyle, touching first to earn the Aggies a key individual win.

• The Aggies continued to build momentum in the sprint events, placing second and third in the 50-yard freestyle.

• In the distance IM, Graham and Childers controlled the 400-yard IM, finishing first and second.

• Scheberies delivered back-to-back runner-up finishes in the 100 and 200 backstroke.

• UC Davis closed the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay to cap the day.
   

NEXT UP: The Aggies return to Schaal Aquatic Center to take on Pacific on Jan. 31 at 12 PM PST and will celebrate their seniors at their last home meet.
