THE SHORT STORY: UC Davis had opportunities throughout to breakthrough, but ultimately battled to a road draw against Lamar, powered behind a six-save shutout from goalkeeper, Cat Pieper.

PITCH SIDE
  • UC Davis had five different players on the night record shots, with Ava Coverdale leading the charge with three
  • Genavieve Fontes, Sarah Canavan and Sydney Bushman were reponsible for all three UC Davis shots on goal tonight
  • Defensively the Aggies were faced with 18 shots, but the aforementioned Pieper weathered the efforts all night, recording the third most saves in a single game by a Big West goalkeeper so far this season, with six
  • Leading the backline along with Pieper was the duo of Kiley Fehrenbacher and Summer Humphreys, accounting for the two Aggies on the night to play all 90 minutes

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Fontes forced a stop in the 16th minute with the Aggies first shot on goal, while Sydney Bushman added an effort on frame in the 23rd minute
  • The Aggies' back line held steady through a flurry of Lamar chances in the final 10 minutes, with Pieper getting a big save off a Cardinal corner at 84:50
  • UC Davis' last look on goal came from Canavan in the 90th minute, while Lamar also had a shot recorded in the 90th minute, but ultimately the game would end at 0-0
