The short story: Cason Goodman's first goal of the season put UC Davis in front for nearly the entire match, and the Aggies controlled long stretches of play before Santa Clara capitalized late to force a 1-1 draw Sunday night at Stevens Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UC Davis grew into the match quickly, earning the first dangerous looks of the night before Goodman put the Aggies in front at the 34:55 mark
- The Aggies carried the momentum into halftime, leading 1-0 after 45 minutes
- Schwengeler's saves in the 48th and 62nd minutes denied Santa Clara as the Aggies continued to threaten on counters and set pieces
- Santa Clara managed to pull level in the 89th minute through Niv Berkovitz, but UC Davis immediately responded with back-to-back corners in the final minute, pressing for the winner before time expired
- Goodman, who nearly doubled the lead in the 50th, had another chance to restore the Aggie lead in the 89th, but his attempt was saved by Santa Clara's Jackson Ozburn, sealing the 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.
