DAVIS, Calif. – 2024 Eddie Robinson finalist head coach Tim Plough along with STATS Perform Preseason All-American Rex Connors and returning Big Sky All-Conference honoree Samuel Gbatu, Jr., will represent No. 11 UC Davis football in Spokane, Washington during this weekend's Big Sky Kickoff Weekend.
 
All three Aggies will spend July 18-21 at the Northern Quest Resort & Casino and will be featured live on ESPN+ on Monday, July 21. Coach Plough will take the stage at 10:15 a.m., followed by Connors and Gbatu Jr.
 
The Aggies are coming off an historic season where they racked up 11 wins overall and seven Big Sky wins to finish second in the conference and No. 5 in the nation. UC Davis made a deep run into the NCAA FCS Playoffs, reaching the quarterfinals after collecting a playoff win over Illinois State.
 
UC Davis earned first place votes in both Big Sky Preseason polls, finishing second in the coaches poll and third in the media poll.
 
The Aggies kick 2025 off with a Week 0 matchup against No. 12 Mercer in Montgomery, Alabama on Aug. 23 when they take part in the FCS Kickoff Classic. UC Davis Health Stadium opens on Sept. 20 when Southern Utah visits Davis and the first Big Sky game is set for Sept. 27 with a visit to UC Davis Health Stadium by Weber State.
