DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis women's soccer program has bolstered its squad with the addition of Courtney Wagner, a dynamic transfer from Cal Poly, head coach
Kat Mertz announced Monday.
"We are thrilled to have Courtney join our team," Mertz said. "She brings valuable experience and a competitive edge that will help strengthen our back line. Courtney reads the game well, plays with composure, and fits seamlessly into our style of play. She also holds herself to high academic standards, which makes her a great fit both on and off the field."
During her 2024 campaign at Cal Poly, Wagner appeared in six matches as a forward, registering eight total shots with three on goal. She delivered a standout performance against LMU on Sept. 5, landing two shots on frame and firing a team-high three attempts in just 37 minutes of action. Wagner redshirted her first eligible season in 2023.
A hometown standout, Wagner captained Whitney High School (Rocklin, Calif.) to the 2022 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division II championship. Her offensive prowess earned her back-to-back All-Sierra Foothill League First Team honors and the SFL Offensive Player of the Year award. Wagner also played for Davis Legacy SC, one of the region's top club programs.
Wagner joins the Aggies for the 2025 season with three years of eligibility remaining.
