HOW IT HAPPENED

The Aggies opened up the morning with doubles, where Daisy Maunupau and Mika Ikemori finished first, taking down their opponents 6-4.

Next to finish was the pair of Solia Valentine and Maya Youssef, who were unable to get a doubles win against their Triton opponents.

With doubles tied at 1-1, it was up to Claire Galerkin and Kaia Wolfe to clinch doubles for the Aggies. After an exciting tiebreaker, the pair won their match, clinching the early doubles point for the Aggies.

On to singles, where freshman Marakhtanova dominated her opponent and won her match in two quick sets.

Next to finish was senior Maunupau, who struggles to find her footing throughout the match and ultimately fell to her Triton opponent.

Aggie transfer Maya Youssef was the next to finish. She took control of her match early and defeated her opponent in two sets, putting the Aggies up 3-1.

Last to finish was graduate student Valentine, who suffered a tiebreaking point but was able to push through and defeat her opponent to clinch the overall win for the Ags.

The matches of Mika Ikemori and Penelope Wong would go unfinished since UC Davis had already clinched the win.
