The short story: UC Davis men's tennis showcased their dominance in a thrilling doubleheader, first overcoming Hawaii 4-1 with a strong all-around performance, and then sweeping UTRGV 4-0, securing two decisive victories in one action-packed day. 

COURTSIDE 

• The Aggies took the early lead in both matches, grabbing the doubles point. 

• Senior Sam DeVries won both of his singles matches of the day. 

• Ryan Torres and Ivan Savkin went undefeated as a doubles pair throughout both matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Aggies opened up the morning with doubles where all three doubles pairs grasped a win at some point throughout the day to help the Aggies secure both doubles points.  

• On to singles, where sophomore Eduardo Gonzalez won his match against his Rainbow Wahine opponent. 

• Next to win against Hawaii was senior De Vries who won his match is two decisive sets. 

• Grabbing the win against Hawaii for the Aggies was freshman Kaveh Taheri who battled in three sets, ultimately coming out on top. 

• Moving on to the match against UTRGV, where senior De Vries took home his second win of the day in two sets. 

• Next to finish was sophomore Savkin who took down his Vaquero opponent in just two sets. 

• The last to finish and clinch the second win of the day for the Aggies was junior Lucas Bollinger. Bollinger fought in three sets and came out with a win. 

• The Aggies swept the day with two wins at the Golden State Invite.
