DAVIS, Calif. – For the fourth time during the 2024-25 season, the UC Davis Equestrian team has garnered all four of the ECAC Rider of the Week titles. After a thrilling matchup between the Aggies and the South Carolina Gamecocks, four Aggies have corralled the ECAC honors; one for each respective discipline.
The Aggies have swept the ECAC weekly titles twice back in November and once in October in the beginning of their season.
FENCES –
Jessie Rechs has earned two previous ECAC titles from her performances over the Fences this season, claiming her third over the senior day meet for a sweet ending to home play for the senior. While riding Tony, Rechs scored the single Aggie point in equitation over the Fences versus the Gamecocks. With a score of 79, she outperformed her opponent by five points.
FLAT – Sophomore
Lauren Kolbe has earned one accolade from the Fences department and one on the Flat this year, making this her third award of the season. With a nail-biting one point differential, sophomore
Lauren Kolbe earned the point for the Aggies on the Flat. Scoring an 82 while riding Tony, the duo earned the MOP and the win.
HORSEMANSHIP – Earning the highest score for the Aggies in Horsemanship, sophomore
Kylie Jacobson scored an impressive 75.5. While riding Spookadee, she beat out the Gamecocks by 2.5 points to help the Ags secure the 3-2 overall win. This is Jacobson's second Horsemanship title of the season.
REINING – Dynamic duo senior
Emma Dillon and GT scored a 69.5 in the reining department, scoring one of two Aggie points. This is Dillon's first ECAC accolade of the 2024-25 season, giving the senior an impressive send-off following her last home meet versus the Gamecocks.
In this season alone, the Aggies have collectively earned 21 ECAC Rider of the Week nods from the conference for their stunning performances and equitation. Fortified by their titles, a fourth Aggie awards sweep was a perfect note to end regular season leading up to conference tournament play.
