MARTIN, Tenn. – No. 2 seeded Aggies took on fellow conference competition Delaware State in the semifinals match, taking them down 14-5 to advance the team into the Championship match.
The Fences team went 5-0 against the Hornets, led by freshman
Carmen Gonzalez's top score in the event. Aboard Dubs, she rode a brilliant 83 and took down the opponent by 13.5 points. With this victory, Gonzalez earns her first MOP brandishing an Aggie logo. Senior
Emma Jolly and Bugsy had the second highest score in the event, riding an 81.5 to beat out the Delaware competitor by a sheer 1.5 points. Freshman
Anna Donovan and Pearl scored a 79, junior
Natalie Wasson and Rafiki jumped a 77.5, and senior
Jessie Rechs and Finn scored 75.5 to round out the Aggie points.
The Ags continued their dominant streak on the Jumping Seat side, going 4-1 over on the Flat. Senior
Emma Jolly took the reins and scored an event-high 78.5 with Peaches, earning the MOP for her knockout performance. Rechs also continued the win streak, both scoring a 78 to add to the Aggie score while atop Doug. Graduate
Margaret Franke and Finley scored a 77, and senior
Marin Gilliland sealed the deal with help from Rose.
Starting off on the western side, the Horsemanship crew went 4-1 versus Delaware State. Sophomore
Kylie Jacobson led the event with an incredible 74 aback Hank to lead the charge. Laura Holliday took the second highest score with Dreamy and corralled a 72.75. Seniors
Natasha Replogle and
Kendall Lance took Flash and Mickey for a spin, scoring a 72 and 71.5 respectively to snag the last two points for the Aggies.
Junior
Nicole Shroyer backs up her reputation on the All-Conference Reining squad, her and Smoke earning the lone Aggie point with a 66.75 score, the second highest of the Ags. Junior
Mya Clader tied with the Hornets for the top with Duke, riding a 69.25 and breaking even.
