- Rylee Reeves, batting third, added a 2-for-3 day, scoring one run with one RBI and one triple
- At the top of the lineup, the Aggies got five hits from Dethlefson, Reeves and leadoff hitter Mickey Buscemi, with the top three hitters also providing one double and two triples
- Marley Panziera was also solid at the dish, going 2-for-3 with one RBI, one run scored, a double and one stolen base
- In the circle the Aggies got four shutout innings from Caroline Grimes, with the Davis starter giving up just three hits
- Ashley Sawai recorded her second save of the season with three scoreless frames to wrap up the game, striking out three batters while not walking anyone
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It took until the bottom the third for the Aggies to get on the board, but after three shutdown innings from Grimes UC Davis got on the board
- With Polli on first after drawing a walk, Reeves smacked a triple to right field that scored Polli and gave the Ags a 1-0 lead
- In the fourth UC Davis added another run when, with Vanessa Calvillo on first and Panziera on third the Aggies ran a delayed double steal to perfection to plate Panziera for a 2-0 lead
- The Aggies broke things up on the fifth with three runs, and Buscemi's triple to left center got things up and running for Davis
- Polli scored Buscemi with a single through the right side to make it 3-0 and after a Reeves walk and Grace Kilday sacrifice bunt the Aggies were set up with runners at second and third with just one out
- Dethlefson singled up the middle to score Polli and Panziera followed that up with a double up the gut to score Reeves making it 5-0 after five innings
- Over the final two innings, Sawai locked in allowing just one base runner as she completed her second save of the season, finishing off the Aggie 5-0 win and helping break out the brooms for the Big West weekend
UP NEXT FOR THE AGGIES: UC Davis remains in the Big West but next hits the road for a weekend series at Hawaii. The Aggies will play an opening doubleheader on Mar. 22 before finishing off the weekend series on Mar. 23.
