Box Score 3 In the first weekend of water polo hosted by UC Davis for the 2025 season, the Ags went 3-0 in game play at the Aggie Invite. The team was ranked ninth in both the CWPA and ACWPC polls, so the Aggies came out determined and hungry to hold onto their spot.

Of the whole tournament, sophomore
Bridget Miller posted second of the six teams competing in the Aggie Invite in top goal scoring with an impressive eight on the weekend. Junior
Ally Smith came in fourth with six and
Madison Sparre came in at fifth with five.

The Ags swept the top three spots of the tournament with assists, senior
Kelly Hungerford and Madi Sparre coming in with eight each to split first place, and sophomore
Ashley Wallin in second credited with five. Sparre was second in overall points earned during the Aggie Invite, her goals and assists totaling 13 points.

Redshirt junior
Gianna Nocetti went 7-1 for sprints on the weekend, winning the most of all the sprinters. Junior goalie
Lucy Holland was second in saves, securing 18 shots that flew her way. Her and
Eva Stein had the top two highest save percentages of the tournament as well.

HOW IT HAPPENED (SATURDAY VS. PACIFIC):
Sophomore
Sadie Henry was quick on the draw, scoring within the first thirty seconds. Senior captain
Kelly Hungerford made a big name for herself in the first quarter of play, tallying up a goal and three assists.

Bridget Miller and junior
Madison Sparre collected hat tricks on the game; Miller adding two steals and Sparre with three assists on the scoresheet.

Hungerford had a career-high of five assists, boosting the Aggie offense all throughout the game.

Maddie Sumner converted the one penalty shot that the Aggies earned, a perfect score.
Gianna Nocetti kicked it into high gear in Aggie territory, winning all three sprints she swam to start the quarter off right.

Eva Stein had four.

HOW IT HAPPENED (SATURDAY VS. UC MERCED):
The win versus the Bobcats was a group effort, with eleven different Aggies registering at least one goal for themselves.
Bridget Miller led the Aggie effort in goals with a near perfect record, registering four of her five shots – one of which being a penalty. She also drew three exclusions on the Bobcats. Sophomore
Liberty Massman and freshman
Margo Tempel recorded hat tricks, three apiece.

Caroline Oates registered her first two goals wearing a CA cap, also adding an assist. Junior
Ally Smith and sophomore
Chelsea Johnson put up two goals each as well.

Madi Sparre was the deputy for the Aggies, handing out four assists in the game. The goalies defended the cage against the Bobcats, not letting a single goal into the net throughout the 32 minutes of play time for a complete game shutout. Stein collected five saves, and Holland had six on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED (SUNDAY VS. SANTA CLARA):
After a close first quarter with a 5-4 score and one goal lead, the Aggies soar past the competition in the second half by making 11 goals and only allowing two more from their opponents the rest of the game.

Maddie Sumner and
Ally Smith made their way to the hattery, each posting three goals against the Broncos. Ali Giusti and
Chelsea Johnson also netted two. Nocetti had a game-high of three assists to set her teammates up for success and drew three exclusions. Â

Hungerford had a game-high of four steals to fizzle out the Bronco offense. The goalies weren't messing around, Stein knocking down seven shot attempts and Holland taking away five.
