The short story: UC Davis weathered the storm after a 5-run third inning from Santa Clara, and despite storming back, the Broncos were able to get the best of the Aggies in extra innings, scoring two in the top of the 10
th to even up the series with a 7-5 win.

FIRST PITCH
- Alex Gouveia led the Aggies offensively, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI
- Joining Gouveia in the home run department was first-baseman, Ryan Lee who went 1-for-4 on the day
- Junior Max Hippensteel was a bright spot out of the bullpen, pitching two shutout innings without allowing a hit, walking none, and striking out two
- Riley Acosta added two hits in five trips to the plate, with him and Gouveia accounting for the two Aggies on the day with multiple hits
- The Aggies continued to show their focus on discipline at the plate, drawing four walks from Santa Clara pitching compared to the Broncos who had three
- Santa Clara's Mateo Garcia went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI
- Max Bayles fresh off his WCC Pitcher of the Week nod from last week, led the Broncos' pitching staff, throwing 5.1 innings of one-run ball with 12 strikeouts

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Aggies started strong, scoring one run in the bottom of the first inning when Tyler Howard came across the plate
- In the second inning, Ryan Lee's two-out solo home run extended the Aggies' lead to 2-0
- Santa Clara's bats came alive to the tune of five singles in the top half of the third, scoring five runs to take a 5-2 lead
- UC Davis responded in the bottom of the fourth with Gouveia's two-run homer, cutting the deficit to 5-4
- The Aggies tied the game in the eighth inning with another key hit from Gouveia, an RBI single scoring Acosta from second to make it 5-5
- In the bottom of the ninth, Braydon Wooldridge got on with a two-out single, but a great play from Santa Clara's Malcolm Williams on Acosta's following at-bat would force the game into extra innings
- In the 10th inning, Santa Clara got back-to-back singles to start, paving the way for the Broncos to score twice and secure a 7-5 win
