The short story: UC Davis softball opened its weekend at the Hillenbrand Tournament with a tough 9-0 loss to No. 20 Stanford in the second-straight game the Aggies have played against the Cardinal.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Stanford opened the game with a pair of first inning home runs, before adding two more in the second behind a two-run home run
• In the fourth, Stanford added four more runs to put the game in run rule territory, and since the Aggies could not score at least two runs in the top of the fifth the game ended with the 9-0 scoreline.

UP NEXT FOR THE AGGIES: The Aggies remain in Tucson where they will face hosting No. 11 Arizona later today (Feb. 20) at 6 p.m. UC Davis will see No. 11 Arizona against on Feb. 21 before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday, Feb. 22 with a pair of games against No. 1 Texas and Colorado State.
