The short story: Alyssa Dethlefson went deep for the second-straight game, but it was not enough to stop No. 22 Stanford as UC Davis softball wrapped up its weekend at the Cardinal Classic.

LEADING OFF
- Dethlefson's home run was a two-run shot giving her a pair of RBIs
- Keira Brady and Gia Felice each had an RBI to account for a pair of Aggie runs
- Rylee Reeves slashed .500/.583/.700 over four games played
- Dethlefson slashed .286/.313/.714, hitting two home runs and knocking in six runs over five games played. She was also a perfect 2-for-2 in stolen bases over the weekend
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Stanford scored five runs in the opening frame to take an early 5-0 lead
- But in the third the Aggies responded and it was sparked thanks to Dethlefson's two-run smash
- UC Davis would eventually load the bases in the inning, with Brady drawing a walk and Felice knocking in two runs on a single to tie things up at 5-5
- But five runs in the third by Stanford gave them back the lead at 10-5 and after three more runs in the fifth the Cardinal had built out a 13-5 lead to end the game via the run rule
UP NEXT FOR THE AGGIES: The Aggies remain on the road, next heading to Tucson, Ariz., for the Hillenbrand Tournament where they will see No. 22 Stanford, No. 17 Arizona, No. 1 Texas and Colorado State.
