Box Score BERKELEY, Calif. – After an electric first quarter against the Golden Bears, the Ags fell to the No. 4 ranked team.
Eight different Aggies contributed to the score in the game, headlined by
Bridget Miller scoring three on the day. Sophomore
Sofia Bozzo was crucial to the Aggie offense, drawing five kickouts with her crafty plays to give the team player-up advantages.
Junior
Madison Sparre anticipated that magic was bound to happen and had a team-high of two assists.
Ashley Wallin and
Gianna Nocetti were locked in on their defense, each earning a field block.
Goalie
Lucy Holland took the first half of the game versus the Bears, making five saves.
Eva Stein took over for the second half of play and had four saves, one of which was a key penalty block.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Sophomore center
Bridget Miller was quick off the sprint, gaining some separation against her defendant and scoring the first goal of the game in the beginning twenty seconds.
Freshman
Georgia Daly earned a penalty for the Aggies, and junior
Ally Smith took the opportunity and fired the ball into the back of the net.
Cal scored to tie it up, and sophomore
Alison Giusti responded to keep the Ags ahead. Lefty attacker
Maddie Sumner added a goal from the right side of the pool, and at the end of the first the Ags were up 4-3 against the Bears.
Composure began to falter in the second quarter as the Bears gained offensive momentum, pulling ahead of the Ags in the second and third periods. After a dry spell, sophomore
Sadie Henry scored in the third and goalkeeper
Eva Stein shut down a huge penalty block to reignite the flame for the Ags.
Junior center
Liberty Massman floated one into the cage at the beginning of the fourth, inspiring redshirt junior
Gianna Nocetti to follow suit. Senior
Kelly Hungerford and sophomore
Lillie Vehling converted their 6-on-5 scoring opportunities.
Miller didn't let her foot off the brakes as she garnered her second and third goals of the game towards the end, boosting the Ags into the double digits on the scoreboard.
UP NEXT: The team will travel down to Irvine, California to participate in the Barbara Kalbus Invite, hosted by UCI from February 21-23. The Ags will face the UC San Diego Tritons on Friday the 21st at 4:15 at the Corona Del Mar High School pool.
