The short story: After dropping the doubles point, UC Davis men's tennis mounted a strong comeback to defeat rival Sacramento State 4-1, securing the victory with dominant singles performances. 

COURTSIDE 

• The Hornets took the early lead grabbing the doubles point. 

• Seniors Ryan Torres and Sam DeVries both won their singles matches. 

• Aggies Lucas Bollinger and Ivan Savkin also won their singles matches to clinch the dual match. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Aggies opened the morning with doubles. Sam DeVries and Eduardo Gonzalez finished first and were unable to hold off their Hornet opponents. 

• Next to finish in doubles were Bollinger and freshman Kaveh Tageri who were successful against their opponent tying the doubles portion of the match. 

• Last to finish in doubles was the pair of Ivan Savkin and Ryan Torres who were unable to win their match, so the doubles point went to their Hornet opponents. 

• On to singles, Aggie Torres took down his Hornet opponent in two dominating sets.

• Next to finish was Torres' doubles partner Savkin who went to three sets and eventually took down his opponent putting the Aggies up 2-1, and grasping his first win of this season. 

• Next was junior Bollinger who played through three exciting sets and eventually held off his Hornet opponent to give the Aggies another singles point. 

• The dual-match was up to senior Sam DeVries to clinch and he did just that after three grueling sets before he eventually took the match.
