HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bennett got the team going with an early triple and a pair of free throws to keep the game tied at five two minutes in.
- Layups from Tegan Young and Emmy Ersdala made up the rest of the Aggie scoring in the first, with the road team ending the quarter down 9-28.
- Epps and Megan Norris got their first of the night to start the second, but the team saw themselves at a 19-42 deficit five minutes into the period.
- Bennett got back-to-back buckets in the last two minutes, but the threes started to fall for the Bulldogs to put them up 53-24 at the break.
- With Gonzaga up 64-34 halfway through the third quarter, the Aggies began their comeback with a 12-0 run, with a three-pointer from Sussex sparking the offense.
- Five points from the Bulldogs broke up the run, but another trey, along with three from the foul line from Sussex, put the Aggies back within 15, 54-69, entering the final quarter.
- After a pair of layups from Epps opened the fourth period scoring for her team, threes from her and Sussex cut the lead to single-digits for the first time since the first quarter, trailing by 64-71.
- Scores from Bennett and Epps kept things close through the final five minutes of action, but that would be as close as things would get, with Gonzaga pulling out a 72-83 victory.
