- The Aggies leaned on their perimeter shooting in the opening half, with eight three-pointers accounting for 24 of their 43 points.
- Seattle U built a 71-67 advantage midway through the second half before UC Davis answered with a 5-0 run, finished by a Nils Cooper layup, to reclaim a 72-71 lead with 3:25 remaining.
- Seattle U closed the game by outscoring UC Davis 8-6 over the final minutes.
- With UC Davis holding a foul to give in the closing seconds, a late sequence was ruled continuation, sending Heimbrodt to the free-throw line.
- Heimbrodt converted the decisive free throw, securing the 79-78 decision for the Redhawks.
