WHAT HEAD COACH DAN CONNERS HAD TO SAY

"I loved our response coming off our loss last night. The team was focused, energized, and ready to compete. I thought we served tough and blocked very well tonight."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Defense set the tone early with a block from Caldwell and Hibino getting the first point for the Aggies.
  • Leading up to the media timeout, the Ags were led offensively with three straight kills from Czapinski and the first ace from Bones to go up 15-11 at the halfway point.
  • Coming out of the break, Light capitalized on back-to-back kills and back-to-back aces as the Aggies would take set one 25-18.
  • In set two, the road team began with a 4-0 run punctuated by a block from Hibino and Ally Chandler to go up 6-3 early.
  • Despite scoring runs from the Tritons, the Aggies used an ace from Ximena Cordero Barr and a solo block from Starr to enter the red zone up 20-14.
  • Four straight points from UCSD put them within one late, but Davis capitalized on the last three points to take the second 25-21 and go up 2-0.
  • The third set started similarly to the second, with both teams exchanging points before a 4-0 run from the home team elevated them to a 15-13 lead at the media break.
  • UC Davis looked to take the lead with an ace from Starr and kills from Hibino and Light, but the Tritons would hang on to win 25-20 and extend the match to a fourth set.
  • The Aggie offense got rolling in set four as a Czapinski kill gave them a 12-8 lead early.
  • Punctuated by the fourth ace from Bones, runs of 4-0 and 3-0 put the team in the driver's seat, entering the redzone up 20-13.
  • From there, UC Davis finished things off with five straight points, a kill from Starr giving them a 25-13 finish and a four-set victory.
UP NEXT: The Aggies return home for the final two games of the regular season. Action begins with a Thursday night matchup against CSUN on Nov. 20. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m. PT, and the match will be live-streamed on ESPN+.
