The short story: UC Davis water polo honored seniors William Fosselman, Andrew Hitchcock, Adam Ting, Waylon Fox, Colin Nicholls, Will Stryker, and Brody Crouch in a Senior Day loss to UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, Nov. 1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After seeing the road team take the first goal, Fosselman got on the board with the Aggies' first goal.
  • Max Prokhin followed up with his first goal, along with the first two of five scores for Thomas Kiesling, to give UC Davis a 4-2 lead after the first.
  • The Gauchos began the second period with three straight goals to take the lead. But Fosselman's second of the day heated the Aggie attackers, with Timothy Kerr, Kiesling, Mateo Ruano, and Andrew Bonelli leading a five-score second quarter.
  • The Aggies entered halftime with a 9-6 lead.
  • Kiesling and Fox opened the third quarter with their fourth and first of the day, respectively.

  • The goal barrage from Santa Barbara continued with the team getting the first three of the period.
  • Oleg Shatskikh found the back of the net for his first of the day, followed by the fifth of Kiesling to make up the fourth quarter scoring for the Aggies.
  • However, the Gauchos pulled away with five goals to secure the win 16-13.
