DAVIS, Calif. – The Ags close out their exciting weekend of tri-meet hospitality with a win against the Minnesota Crookston Eagles, the final score of 18-2 boosted by three 5-0 results in the lineup of events today.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Aggies continued their streak of strong starts, going 5-0 over the Fences. All the Aggie scores were in the 80's, with sophomore
Lauren Kolbe taking the highest score in the event with a stunning 86 aback Bear, earning herself the MOP while she was at it. This was her second MOP of the weekend as well. Freshman
Anna Donovan was a point behind with an 85 on Otis.
Emma Jolly,
Jessie Rechs, and
Carmen Gonzalez also added to the tally for the sweep in Fences.
Senior
Natasha Replogle set the tone out in the western arena for Horsemanship, earning the first point aboard May-Z with a score of 73.5 against Crookston. Sophomore
Laura Kate Holliday had the highest Aggie score, with a 74 riding Bella.
Kendall Lance and
Katya Dundas also contributed points to the board with a 3-2 final in Horsemanship.
Junior
Mya Clader lassoed the MOP in Reining against the Eagles, her high score of 71.5 with the proud Mr. T set the tone for the Aggie sweep.
Emma Dillon and
Nicole Shroyer each scored a 69, and freshman
Avery Adamson had a great ride with a 70.5 score on Belle.
Mylea Trimble and GT also sealed the deal, beating out her Crookston competitor by four points.
The Flat fared to be just as fruitful, breaking out the brooms for the third 5-0 point sweep of the matchup.
Margaret Franke ran the show with an 84, a 31-point difference between her and her opponent also showing Otis. This performance earned her the MOP award. Kolbe and Courtage also had a great show, scoring an 85.
Marin Gilliland,
Jessie Rechs, and
Anna Donovan also added to the Aggie score for the amazing 10-0 sweep in the Jumping Seat equitation for the day.
