UC Davis And KQCA My58 Extend Partnership Into 2024 Season; Will Broadcast All Aggie Home Games

DAVIS, Calif. – After a successful partnership with KQCA My58 that saw UC Davis football expand its footprint throughout the region, UC Davis and My58 have announced that they will continue that partnership into the 2024 season guaranteeing that all Aggie home games will be broadcast throughout the Sacramento market.
 
"We are thrilled to announce a continued partnership with KQCA My58, which will again bring all UC Davis Football home games to living rooms across the Sacramento market and surrounding areas" states Danielle Shank, Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations. "This collaboration started last season, and given the positive feedback with our growing footprint, we have happily extended it into this football season. We are excited to display our talented athletes on a broader stage and look forward to another fantastic year with KQCA and KCRA."

KQCA MY58, a Hearst Television station, is the CW and MyNetworkTV affiliate in Sacramento. The station is part of a duopoly with NBC affiliate, KCRA 3.

On top of being the broadcast home for Aggie football, KQCA is also home to all Los Angeles Chargers preseason games.

The Aggies opened 2024 with a tough game at California, behind a strong performance by linebacker Porter Connors the Aggies battled Cal to the end. Connors was tabbed the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week and the National Defensive Player of the Week by FCS Nation.
 
UC Davis opens home on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. against Texas A&M-Commerce, the first time the Aggies have a chance to be showcased on My58 and for first year head coach Tim Plough to take the field in charge of his alma mater.
 
Plough, a former Aggie quarterback, takes the reigns for the first time as a head coach becoming one of 13 coaches across the FCS in their first year at the helm. Plough returns to Davis, where he coached under another former Aggie then-head coach Dan Hawkins, from 2017-20.
 
UC Davis boasts preseason All-Americans senior running back Lan Larison, who has been named to the Walter Payton Preseason Watch List, junior defensive back Rex Connors (Buck Buchanan Preseason Watch List) and senior defensive lineman Zach Kennedy. They also can claim Big Sky Preseason All-Conference honoree junior kicker Hunter Ridley and the Big Sky Preseason Offensive Player of the Year in Larison.
