DAVIS, Calif. – Already the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week, UC Davis football junior linebacker Porter Connors has earned national attention, being named National Defensive Player of the Week by FCS Nation following his Saturday performance at California.
 
The Aggie junior finished with a career-high 13 tackles, one sack and he recovered a fumble for a touchdown in the opening quarter at California Memorial Stadium. Connors' score was the first fumble recovery for a touchdown by an Aggie since 2019.
 
The Aggies open UC Davis Health Stadium on Sept. 7 with a 7 p.m. kickoff against Texas A&M-Commerce.
