The Short Story: UC Davis men's water polo fell to Cal but swept West Valley the first day of the 2024 Aggie Roundup, with Tommy Kiesling dominating the Aggie offense in today's matches with a total of ten goals.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (vs. Cal)

• Redshirt freshman Thomas Kiesling spearheaded the score with four of the seven Davis goals.
• Redshirt senior Will Nomura was a steady helper throughout the game, tallying a goal, and assist, and a drawn exclusion for the Aggies
• Freshmen Gabe Bensen and Oleg Shatskikh added their named to the scoresheet with one goal apiece
• Shatskikh also handed out three assists to help his teammates score
• Redshirt freshmen goalkeepers Brady Simon, Baxter Chelsom, and Frank Laptin split minutes in the game, Simon in the lead with four saves

 
HOW IT HAPPENED (vs. West Valley)

• Kiesling led the Aggies with six goals against the Vikings
• Will Nomura had a hat trick, which fueled the Aggie offense when it was needed most.
• Redshirt Freshman Brody Crouch fired two goals into the net and drew an exclusion.
• Gabe Bensen tallied three assists for the team
• The Aggies had a lethal .436 percent shooting rate, converting just below half of their 39 offensive opportunities
