The short story: An early score from
Cason Goodman and a first-career goal for
Rafael Matiello fueled UC Davis offensively in a physical battle against Utah Valley. Despite the pair of goals in the first-half, Utah Valley drew even with the Aggies, capitalizing on five yellow cards with Isaac Emojong and Keith Willey scoring for the Wolverines.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UC Davis made an aggressive push early, with Goodman scoring the first Aggie goal in the 2nd minute
- Utah Valley responded in the 34th minute with Isaac Emojong scoring off an Omar Yehya assist
- With a free-kick attempt in the 41st minute Matiello introduced himself to the Aggie crowd in an emphatic way, drilling home a free-kick attempt to bring the Aggie lead to 2-1 entering the half
- While fouls, yellow cards and possession in the midfield would dominate much of the action in the second half, the Wolverines would escape with a draw after Willey scored late to make it 2-2 in the 81st minute
