DAVIS, Calif. — Incoming men's soccer players
Talin Morgan and
Maverick Wilson were honored on the United Soccer Coaches 2023-24 High School All-West Region Team earlier this month.
Morgan, an incoming goalkeeper from Servite High School in Anaheim, California, was also recognized as a United Soccer Coaches All-American in addition to his All-West Region selection. Morgan was one of just 18 All-Americans this academic year and one of only two California selections to the team. He anchored Servite to a CIF Championship and registered 10 shutouts this past season for the Friars.
Wilson also had a standout year, earning an All-West Region nod as a stout defender for Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek. During his career, Wilson helped guide the Knights to an NCS Championship, three league titles, and a CIF NorCal Division II Championship appearance this past year. Wilson and Morgan were two of the eight All-West Region selections this past spring.
UC Davis opens the season with an exhibition at Cal on August 11 at 1:00 p.m. (PT), with the home opener for the Aggies scheduled for August 25 against Utah Valley at 1:00 p.m. (PT).
UC Davis is coming off a 2023 season in which they went 9-7-4 and made an appearance in the Big West Championship Final.
