DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis women's tennis team was recognized as a Division I Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team for a third consecutive year. It is the 11th time the program has earned the honor.
Five Aggies were also individually selected by the ITA as Scholar-Athletes.
Michelle Zell, an international relations major, became a four-time award winner, while
Maddi Page and
Claire Galerkin picked up their third recognition.
Kaia Wolfe was recognized for a consecutive year, earning her second career Scholar-Athlete award, and
Mika Ikemori added to her All-Big West debut season with a first-career honor.
In 2024, 1,573 Division I women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 255 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
In order to qualify as a Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
In order to be eligible as an All-Academic Team a team as a whole must maintain at least a 3.2 GPA.
