DAVIS, Calif. – UC Davis Athletics proudly celebrates its Class of 2024 with 133 Aggie student-athletes, including the Aggies who finished their studies following the fall semester, taking part in the fifth-annual Launch Day as part of UC Davis' 2024 spring commencement ceremonies.
Launch Day is hallmark event organized by Aggie EVO, providing a platform to recognize the achievements of these exceptional individuals while here at Davis and celebrate the next step in their journeys into the world of work.
"Aggie Launch Day is an annual celebration of our graduating Aggies, honoring the dedication and hard work of our Student-Athletes," said UC Davis Director of Athletics Rocko DeLuca. "This event fills me with pride as we recognize their achievements and look forward to seeing them carry their Aggie Pride into their professional careers. I am excited for this class to make their mark on the world."
Aggie EVO, a program finishing up its seventh year, is committed to equipping student-athletes with the necessary tools to thrive in the world beyond their time at UC Davis and competing in intercollegiate athletics.
Through a multifaceted approach, the Aggie EVO System focuses on enhancing career paths for student-athletes, preparing them for success in various professional fields. The program offers a range of opportunities, including networking events, internships, mentorships, and experiential learning initiatives, all designed to bolster their professional skills and provide real-world experience.
From the moment student-athletes set foot on the UC Davis campus, Aggie EVO opens doors to unique relationships and immersive experiences, allowing them to interact with employers and professionals from diverse fields. These encounters often introduce students to new and exciting possibilities that they may not have previously considered.
These invaluable opportunities empower student-athletes to put their best foot forward as they embark on their future careers.
UC Davis will hold its Spring 2024 Commencement Ceremonies at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif., starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 14. Ceremonies will also be held at the Golden 1 Center later that same day at 2 p.m., on Saturday, June 15 at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and a final ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 16.
