DAVIS, Calif. – For the tenth consecutive year, UC Davis has claimed the annual Causeway Cup.

The Aggies have clinched this year's cup, racking up 59.18 of the 90 total points available. Sacramento State has accumulated 30.84 points, securing UC Davis' win to improve to 14-4 all-time in the 19-year history of the award. The award was not given for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years due to various competition pauses and cancellations due to COVID-19.

Each sport is assigned five points for a win if the teams meet only once and are divided further for however many matchups occur. The exceptions to this rule are cross country, where only results at the NCAA West Regional are used, and gymnastics, where only head-to-head dual meets are used for scoring. Track and field points are also only determined by the annual Causeway Dual.

The first points of the year for the Aggies came through thanks to Women's Soccer, with a swift 3-0 victory for the Ags. Not long after Women's Volleyball gained another 5 points with their 3-1 win on the road. Women's Golf picked up their first set of points of the season when they placed second at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational. Men's and Women's Cross Country managed a huge 10 points at Sacramento State during the NCAA West Regional. Rounding out the fall sports was Football's huge rainy-day win over the Hornets, 31-21 racking up another 5 points.

Women's Basketball registered five more points with its 79-57 win at Sacramento State. Gymnastics kicked off the new year right picking up 2.50 points in the first of two match-ups. Baseball swept the Hornets taking home all 5 points in the 3-game series spanning over the course of the season.
 
Speaking of sweeps, Beach Volleyball picked up a 5-0 win during the Big West Challenge. Another 5 points rolled in with Men's Golf 8th place victory April 12-14th over Sac's 11th place. Men's and Women's Tennis rounded out the win for the Aggies with back-to-back huge wins over the Hornets at home picking up 10 points between the two teams.
