Jack Gallagher who stole the spotlight with his pinch-hit, walk-off hit in the bottom of the 11
th to secure UC Davis the 2-1 victory, and the series over the reigning Big West Champion, UC San Diego Tritons.

- Alex Gouveia led off the game with a double and eventually made his way home on a hit from Leighton Helfrick to give the Aggies a one-run lead in the bottom of the first
- UC San Diego responded with a run of their own in the top of the second, capitalizing on a two-out, hit-by-pitch which was followed up by two consecutive singles
- During the middle frames, the game remained deadlocked at 1-1, with dominant pitching and defense being at the forefront
- Eight scoreless innings would ensue with UC Davis' best opportunity coming in the sixth, with UC San Diego's Noah Sudyka robbing Jason Hanson of a hit with a diving stop in the 5-6 hole
- UC San Diego's Izaak Martinez who appeared in all games of the series, retired 13 consecutive Aggies, providing the Tritons a lockdown effort out of the pen
- UC Davis would eventually break through Martinez's strong performance with Jack Gallagher pinch-hitting in the bottom of the 11th, slamming a liner over the outstretched center fielder to give UC Davis the series win
