ST. GEORGE, Utah — After four full days of swimming, and three days of diving the week before, the UC Davis swim and dive team earned fourth place with 563 total points. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Aggies opened the meet with two relay races, finishing fifth in the 200 Medley Relay and fourth in the 800 Free Relay. 

Day two began with preliminary races in the morning, and the Aggies finished the day with a 200 Free Relay and 200 IM and 50 Free swims. 

UC Davis' A Relay squad, made up of Katie McLain, Naomi Boegholm, Sophi MacKay and Christy Douglas earned a place in the program record books, breaking the school record of 1:31.65, set in 2019, with a 1:31.42 swim. 

Sam Rhodes and Boegholm found their way to the podium on day two, as Rhodes placed third in the 200 IM (2:02.33) and Boegholm placed third in the 50 free (22.89). Boegholm's swim was the third fastest ever in school history, while Rhodes' was the tenth.

Sophi MacKay had a fast 50 Free of her own, placing fifth with the tenth fastest swim in program history (23.17).

Rhodes and Brynn Graham headlined the Aggies' efforts on the third day of competition with stellar 400 IM swims. Graham placed second (4:21.08), while Rhodes came in third (4:22.12). Additionally, Boegholm finished eighth in the 100 Fly (55.12).

The Aggies broke another school record on the final day, swimming the 400 Free Relay in 3:19.44, which was good for second place. The team of Anna Boyer, McLain, MacKay, and Boegholm bested the previous time of 3:20.66 set in 2011. 

Boegholm, Boyer, MacKay and McLain all placed in the top ten of the 100 Free and Rhodes was fifth in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:15.73. 

UC Davis placed fourth, coming in behind Hawai'i, UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego.
