FRESNO, Calif. — The UC Davis equestrian team pushed Fresno State to the limit on Saturday, but ultimately fell, 9-9 (1590.25 - 1469.50). The loss moves the Aggies under .500 for the first time since early November, with one regular season meet remaining next week. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Aggies (4-5, 3-1) opened with a 2-2 split on the Flat, with Marin Gilliland and Margaret Franke each scoring 76 to earn points for UC Davis. The Bulldogs owned the arena in Horsemanship, shutting out the Aggies 4-0. Kendall Lance tied her opponent at 68.5 to prevent the full sweep. 

UC Davis rebounded in Fences, taking four points to Fresno State's one. Emma Jolly lead the way for the Aggies, scoring an 83 and earning the MOP. Tasia Anstead, Lauren Kolbe and Jessie Rechs also scored. 

The Aggies battled back to tie in raw scoring with strong showing in Reining, winning the discipline 3-2. Nicole Shroyer had a 67.5 while Kendal Scheiner scored a 74. MOP Lauren Langbaum vaulted herself to the top of the Aggie program record books with a score of 77.5, besting the previous UC Davis reining high score of 74.5, set twice by Macey Newkirk.

The Aggies return home to host Oklahoma State on Sunday, March 3. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
