DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis equestrian team is set to host Baylor at the UC Davis Equestrian Center on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 9:00 a.m. The Aggies (3-4, 3-1).

LAST TIME OUT
The ninth-ranked Aggies traveled to Martin, Tenn. for two meets against ECAC opponents last weekend. UC Davis defeated No. 8 Delaware State 11-5 and suffered a defeat to No. 10 UT Martin, 10-8. 

Carly Sweeney earned her seventh career ECAC Rider of the Week award for her rides in Fences in last weekend's meets. Sweeney picked up two MOPs with scores of 88 against Delaware State and 90 against UT Martin.

HISTORY
The Aggies and Bears have faced off against each other twice before, with Baylor taking the meet both times. 

In 2019, Baylor won a home meet against UC Davis 14-2. Three years later in the spring of 2022, Baylor came to Davis and picked up a 13-7 win.

ABOUT BAYLOR
Baylor 2-7 so far this season, with wins over Fresno State and No. 5 Georgia. The Bears have picked up losses to four top-five squads and notably has lost to two ECAC teams, Delaware State and UT Martin.

Former UC Davis head coach, and the first head coach in UC Davis equestrian program history, Jessie Weisinger, will be on the staff for the Bears. Weisinger departed UC Davis after the 2022 season to be the Horsemanship coach in Waco.
