HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Coming into the first quarter, the Aggies kept pace with their opponent from a balanced scoring attack featuring five points from Mazatlan Harris and a triple from Ryann Bennet to hold a 12-13 deficit at the end of the period.
  • Despite a three-pointer from Tova Sabel, the second belonged to the Broncos, who rattled off a 9-3 run to take a 27-19 lead into the break.
  • In the third, Norris came to life, knocking off 18 of the Aggies 23 quarter points with two three-pointers. Despite the offensive explosion from the road team, Santa Clara refused to back down, holding a 44-42 lead going into the final frame.
  • Norris stayed hot in the fourth quarter, cashing in a three to give her team their first lead since the beginning of the first.
  • As both teams continued to go back and forth, a layup from the Broncos gave them the 60-58 lead with just seconds to go.
  • After exchanging a free throw each, Davis found themselves down two with seconds remaining before Megan Norris scored a wide-open layup to send the game to overtime.
  • Throughout much of OT, both teams stayed hot, exchanging field goals to stay tied at 70 apiece with 47 seconds left.
  • Two free throws from Nya Epps gave the Aggies the lead, and after a missed layup on the other end, Davis iced the game with two more from Ryann Bennett.
