DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis Women's Swimming and Diving team is equipped and ready to face competition in the 2024-25 season, with a schedule packed full of exciting Invites and more home meets than ever before.
Â
The Aggies will commence their season with the exciting, long-running tradition of Blue vs Gold this Saturday at 9:00 AM. Â "We are looking forward to a great weekend! Blue vs Gold is always a fun way to kick off our season," Head Coach Matthew Macedo says.
Â
"This unofficial intrasquad involves different distances rather than traditional dual meets and our team captains draft the teams and seed the meet," Macedo explains. "It is fun to see our captains wear their coaching hats, and we usually see some exciting races and a close final score."
Â
This event is also a perfect opportunity to see the first years compete and allows them to get a feel for the college dual meet environment and test out the new transfers as they debut for the Aggies.
Â
Right after the Blue vs Gold meet, there will be the annual alumni meet, where generations of Aggie athletes will return to the Davis lanes to close out the day.
Â
Next week, the Aggies are on the road for the CSUB Sprint Classic and Roadrunner Invite, hosted by Cal State Bakersfield from October 11th-12th.
Â
After that, the Aggies will host a trio of weekends at the Schaal Aquatics Center, starting on October 19th at noon versus Nevada.
Â
Big West conference play will begin that following weekend, opening with a home meet versus UCSD at noon on October 26th.
