The Short Story: It's official – the Aggies have locked in their third conference win after treading into Titan territory tonight, continuing their 3-0 streak for the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Graduate student Aleix Aznar Beltran broke the stalemate in the first quarter with the first Aggie goal of the game
- Sophomore Timothy Kerr followed suit, with help from redshirt junior Adam Ting
- True freshman Gabe Bensen deposited a shot in the second quarter, closely followed by redshirt freshman Thomas Kiesling's six in five advantage goal
- Continuing the trend, graduate student Holden Neach converted the third powerplay advantage goal of the game
- Bensen was on fire in the last minute and change of the half, netting two more goals to make it good for his first collegiate hat trick
- Neach added his second goal early in the third quarter, helping the Aggies pull ahead of the Titans quickly in the second half
- Beltran made it a hat trick in the third quarter with two quick attacks, sandwiching Bensen's fourth goal
- In a span of thirty seconds, redshirt junior Andrew Hitchcock and freshman Oleg Shatskikh broadened the gap with two more goals
- Bensen ends the match with five goals into his record, a career-best for the true freshman
