The Wildcats set the tone early, scoring five goals within the first quarter. Sophomore Ashley Sessa led the charge scoring first, sophomore Piper Borz scored second in the sixth minute, junior Greta Hinke scored third in the eighth minute, sophomore Ilse Tromp scored fourth in the 11th minute, and Sessa scored her second goal of the period in the 14th minute.

Northwestern continued to pressure UC Davis throughout the match, scoring three more goals in the second period from Sessa, Graduate Student Chloe Relford, and Senior Lane Herbert.

The Aggies got their first big opportunity, being awarded a penalty stroke in the 39th minute, which resulted in a goal by Lise Koop finally putting the Aggies on the board.

Aggie Zoe Mohrman also recorded her second defensive save of the season saving UC Davis from another Northwestern goal.

The Wildcats continued their momentum into the final quarter and scored another three goals within three minutes of each other. The first by Borz, the second by Freshman Nadia Nemeth, and the third by redshirt sophomore Amelia Albers.

UC Davis struggled to find their rhythm for the remainder of the game leaving them with their lone goal by Koop.
