The Short Story: The Ags tried their hand playing against the current best program in the nation, but fall short with a final score of 8-14.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- True freshman Gabe Bensen and redshsirt senior Tyler Mrkaich topped the leaderboard for the Aggie offense today, scoring two goals apiece in the match
- Junior goalkeeper Frank Laptin had a busy day in the cage, shutting down 11 of the Cardinal shots, including a huge stop against a third quarter five-meter penalty
- Andrew Hitchcock, Will Nomura, Tommy Kiesling, and Will Fosselman also added to the overall tally, from post ups to converted penalties
- Andrew Hitchcock drew four exclusions, getting the Cardinal defense into foul trouble and the Aggies a powerplay advantage
UP NEXT: This Friday's huge win against No. 9 Long Beach State, the Ags are on the road for their second Big West Conference game. The team will be down in Santa Barbara on October 19th at 12:00 PM for a match up against UCSB.
