The Short Story: The Aggies pull ahead and upset No. 9 Long Beach State in the first game of conference play with an exhilarating team effort.
Aleix Aznar Beltran found the back of the net three times, and
Frank Laptin defended the cage valiantly with eight saves and three steals.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a first quarter dry spell of offensive conversion, the Aggies were down with an 0-2 deficit. However, the team maintained their composure and scored four goals in the second and fourth quarters, and three in the third.
- Graduate student Aleix Aznar Beltran tallied a hat trick in the game, leading the Aggie offense consistently throughout the game
- Sophomore Timothy Kerr went two-for-two with his goals, one of them sealing the deal of the Aggie win in the fourth quarter
- Kerr also led the team in assists, setting up two crafty passes
- Redshirt senior Colin Nicholls also went two-for-two in shots and goals, playing a huge role in the Aggies' second half attacks
- Graduate student Holden Neach, redshirt freshman Thomas Kiesling, and redshirt seniors Will Nomura and Tyler Mrkaich all added goals to the scoreboard
- Redshirt junior Andrew Hitchcock made two assists and drew two exclusions
- Junior goalkeeper Frank Laptin denied eight of the twenty shots flung at him and made three stellar steals to cut the Beach's offensive efforts short.
