DAVIS, Calif. – Head Coach Tim Plough will complete his coaching roster with the additions of Eric Raisbeck and DuMaurier Jordan.

Raisbeck joins from Big Ten power Penn State as the Aggies' new Special Teams Coordinator while Jordan brings a wealth of experience coaching the secondary, coming to Davis as the new Cornerbacks Coach.

ABOUT RAISBECK
Raisbeck worked with one of the top special teams units in the FBS, spending four seasons as a Special Teams Analyst at Penn State.

"Eric has had a tremendous impact on one of the best special teams units in the country," Plough said. "It was a priority for us to find an elite coach that could create a special environment for the Ags in that phase of the game. The expectation is for us to impact every contest in the special teams phase and I'm thrilled to have Eric lead that for us. Not only is he a talented coach, but he's also a great husband and father. We are excited to welcome Eric and his family to Shredville."

The Nittany Lions garnered a top-10 national ranking in many different statistical categories during his tenure, including:
  • Special teams efficiency percentage (#10)
  • Punt return average (#9)
  • Efficient punt coverage (#6)
  • Efficient kickoff coverage (#4)
  • Punt and kick return touchdowns (#3)
  • Overall special teams rating (#3)

Raisbeck helped bring the Penn State kicking team to new heights, recruiting the number-one kicker in the class of 2021 as well as the top punter in the 2022 class. He guided the program's all-time leading punter in Riley Thompson and produced 13 All-Big Ten honorees in his special teams unit.

In 2022, Penn State long snapper Chris Stroll received the Patrick Mannelly Award which recognized him as the nation's top long snapper.

Prior to his time at Penn State, Raisbeck spent one season at Utah State where he also served as a Special Teams Analyst. He was an assistant to the Mountain West Special Teams Coordinator of the Year, Stacy Collins, during his one season in Logan, Utah.

Raisbeck excelled at the NAIA, Division II, and Division III levels before his ascent to the FBS stage, gaining five seasons worth of experience as a Special Teams Coordinator. He enjoyed stints at Presentation College (2014-16), South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (2012-13, 2016-17), and University of Wisconsin-Platteville (2017-19).

He got the unique opportunity to coach in Europe before his start in college football, becoming the Assistant Head Coach for the Calanda Broncos in Switzerland (2013) and the Head Coach of the Oslo Vikings in Norway (2014).

"I am honored to have been selected by Coach Plough as your Special Teams Coordinator," Raisbeck said. "I'm eager to work with these incredible student-athletes. I look forward to contributing to the vision Coach Plough has for this program, and the rich history and traditions of UC Davis. My wife and two sons are fired up to join the Davis community. Go Aggies!"

ABOUT JORDAN
A California native, Jordan makes his way to back the Golden State after spending one season at Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Tex. where he was the Defensive Backs Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, and NFL Liaison.

"Coach Jordan separated himself in the interview process with his ability not only to coach, but his passion to mentor," Plough said. His experience coaching at different levels shows his ability to adapt and wear multiple hats while still creating a positive impact on his players. His knowledge of multiple Nor Cal regions is a huge plus in recruiting. We are thrilled to add him to the Blue Force and excited to welcome his family to Shredville."

His impact in northern Texas was immediately felt as he coached a secondary that improved from 132nd in passing defense to 21st in the country. Jordan also oversaw the development of Peyton Shaw who earned Second Team All-Conference honors, as well as two additional defensive backs who were tabbed honorable mention.

Prior to joining the staff at Midwestern State, Jordan was responsible for coaching and mentoring cornerbacks and safeties as the defensive backs coach at Ottawa University for two seasons in Surprise, Ariz. Jordan guided Eric Holman, to First Team All-Sooner Athletic Conference honors during his time with the Spirit. He also coached Brajhon Crenshaw, a Second Team All-Sooner Athletic Conference recipient.

Jordan had similar duties for two seasons at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, Calif., where Tre' Wortham was a First Team All-Valley Conference member as a freshman and sophomore under the tutelage of Jordan.

Jordan's coaching career began in 2014 at Franklin High School in Elk Grove, Calif. Jordan was the secondary coach and responsible for coaching the returners on special teams, while also planning and aiding in film breakdown with the defense.

In 2017, Jordan was the junior varsity head coach at Franklin High School. He worked as the defensive coordinator, developed practice plans, and worked with parents on organizing fundraising meetings. His team finished 8-2, second place in the league that season.

Jordan excelled during his playing days, standing out as a cornerback for two seasons at Abilene Christian. He went on to play professionally with the San Antonio Talons of the Arena Football League before he turned to coaching in 2014.

"I am extremely blessed to be recognized by Coach Plough and staff to be the next Cornerbacks Coach at UC Davis, a program that has a great history of tradition and success," Jordan said. "I am excited to work with this great staff. I have a lot of respect for them, and I am excited to have the opportunity to mentor the young men in the program. My family and I are excited to be back in California and be a part of the Aggie family."
