DAVIS, Calif. – Head Coach Tim Plough announces another addition to his coaching staff, Colin Lockett, bringing in a highly touted young coach to usher in the new era of Shredville. Lockett comes to Davis as the new Wide Receivers Coach.

The new leader of the Aggies' receiving unit will be Colin Lockett, who brings much coaching experience from the FBS level.
"Colin comes highly recommended from some of the most respected coaches in the country," Plough said. "I love that he has coached and played on both sides of the ball. I love that he has been a part of some elite programs both at the high school and collegiate level. He's going to bring an infectious energy to our team every single day. I'm thrilled our wide receivers' group will be mentored by him and I know he'll bring a lot to our staff as a recruiter as well."
Lockett was previously a graduate assistant at Oregon, helping guide one of the nation's most prolific offenses. He worked with both the wide receivers and running backs in his one season in Eugene.
From 2021 to 2022, Lockett was the defensive backs quality control coach at the University of Washington, where he assisted in recruiting and developing some of the nation's best prospects. He held a similar role at his alma mater San Diego State from 2020 to 2021 as a graduate assistant.
Lockett is on the rise as one of the top young coaches in the country as he was selected as one of nine to participate in the 2
nd annual Diversity Coaching Summit held in the TCO Performance Center – the home of the Minnesota Vikings.
He got his start in coaching at high school powerhouse St. John Bosco (2017-19), serving as the defensive backs coach for the 2019 High School National Champions.
Lockett was a three-year starter at the wide receiver position for San Diego State and went on to play in the NFL for three years, enjoying stints with Cincinnati Bengals and Washington.
"I am truly honored to be recognized by Coach Plough and UC Davis for the opportunity to be the next Wide Receivers Coach," Lockett said. "I cannot wait to mentor the young men whom I will be surrounded by and work with such an amazing staff that I respect so much.
