LOS ANGELES, Calif. —
Will Nomura,
Adam Ting and
Tyler Mrkaich each scored twice, but it wasn't enough as the Long Beach State Beach rolled to a 15-10 victory in the MPSF Invitational seventh place game on Sunday morning.
Another slow start offensively doomed the Aggies, as the Beach jumped out to a 7-1 lead midway through the second period.
A goal by Aaron Voggenthaler and two from Nomura helped UC Davis build momentum into the third quarter, but Long Beach State held firm and soon had the advantage extended back out to six.
Colin Nichols and William Fosselman chipped in a score each before the final buzzer sounded, but the final result was well in hand.
Aaron Wilson finished the game with seven saves and four steals, while Timothy Kerr dished out two assists.
The Aggies are back in Southern California next weekend, when they take on San Jose State to kick off the Big West-WCC tournament hosted by UC Irvine.
