DAVIS, Calif. – No. 15 ranked UC Davis (2-1) will open Big Sky Conference play against Eastern Washington on Saturday, Sept. 23. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at UC Davis Health Stadium. Scott Marsh and Scott Gordon will have the call on KQCA My58 and ESPN+. Greg Wong and Jon Grant will be on the air on KHTK and the Varsity Network.
The Aggies are coming off a 23-21 victory over Southern Utah in their home opener on Saturday.
Lan Larison erupted for 166 total yards, including 106 receiving on eight catches.
Hunter Ridley connected on all three field goals and is perfect on the season as
Rex Connors and
Teddye Buchanan led the Ags in tackles with eight apiece.
The Aggies have had tough luck against Eastern Washington as the Eagles hold a 10-0 all-time series lead. The two teams last met in 2021 when the Ags fell 38-20 at home.
UC Davis moved up a spot in the rankings as the Aggies now reside in 15
th in both the coaches and Stats Perform poll.
Offensively, the Aggies are led by Larison, as he has 224 yards rushing and 118 receiving yards in his first three games of the season. The Idaho native has four total touchdowns on the season.
Defensively,
Rex Connors, in just two games, leads the team with 18 total tackles and team captain
Teddye Buchanan follows with 16.
The Ags continue to be disciplined on the field as they are the least penalized team in the Big Sky with only 10 penalties for 75 yards.
Eastern Washington enters the contest at 1-2, coming off a 40-29 victory over Southeastern Louisiana. Justice Jackson leads the team in rushing with 170 yards and two touchdowns. Eftom Chism III has caught 26 passes for 253 yards and Ben Allen leads the squad with 23 tackles and a sack.
The Aggies will hit the road for the battle of the Golden Horseshoe next week. The game will take place in San Louis Obispo on Saturday, Sept. 30. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m.
