Box Score DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis men's tennis team defeated the University of Hawai'i, 4-3, Wednesday afternoon at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. The win makes four straight for the Aggies, and is their seventh in their last eight matches played.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC Davis (11-6, 4-0 Big West) opened up strong in doubles competition, as Lucas Bollinger and Coleton Hootman won their match for the Aggies, but Hawai'i ultimately took the point behind the continued strong play of Axel Labrunie and Kilian Maitre, who moved to 11-0 as a doubles pair.

Sam De Vries cruised to his sixth singles win of the season on court four to even the score, but #91 Andre Ilagan dispatched Constantinos Djakouris shortly after to give the Rainbow Warriors the lead right back. 

Brett Brinkman and Lucas Bollinger continued their stretch of strong play, taking straight set wins on courts three and five, giving the Aggies a 3-2 lead with two more results left to be settled. 

After Hawai'i (9-7, 2-2 Big West) added a point on court two, Mitchell Davis sealed the match with a commanding 6-3 third set. 

UP NEXT
The win gives UC Davis total control of the top seed in the Big West, which they can solidify with a win on Friday at UC Irvine. Irvine is a half-game back of the Aggies at 3-0 in conference play. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
