Three Conference Games on the Slate for UC Davis

DAVIS, Calif.UC Davis men's tennis has three Big West games lined up this week, beginning with Wednesday's match against the University of Hawai'i at 10 a.m.

ABOUT THE AGGIES
The Aggies (10-5, 3-0 Big West) surf into Wednesday's contest against the Rainbow Warriors on a three game win streak, including a 4-3 upset win against #32 UC Santa Barbara last time out. Their 10-5 record is good for the program's best start to a season since the 2015-16 squad began 15-3, and the 3-0 conference record has them at the top of the Big West standings. This week's matches will conclude Big West regular season play and solidify the Aggies' seed going into the conference tournament.

Constantinos Djakouris has won his last seven singles matches and is 10-2 so far this season in singles competitions. Both Lucas Bollinger and Brett Brinkman have won five of their last seven singles matches.

ABOUT THE RAINBOW WARRIORS
The University of Hawai'i (9-6, 2-1 Big West) will be looking to vault UC Davis in the conference standings with a win on Wednesday. The Rainbow Warriors have been building winning momentum recently, picking up wins in three of their last four matches.

2022 Big West player of the Year and #91 ranked singles player Andre Ilagan headlines the visiting squad. Ilagan is 12-3 in singles matches and has won 11 straight. Doubles competition has been a strong point for Hawai'i this season, having won the opening match point in the last 11 matches. The pairing of Axel Labrunie and Killian Maitre are undefeated this season, with 10 wins.

ABOUT THE ANTEATERS
UC Davis hits the road for a weekend trip to Southern California, starting off with a Friday match against UC Irvine at 1 p.m. that figures to be another test for the Aggies. On March 2, the Anteaters were 1-6 and hadn't gained a point in their last two matches. Since then, Irvine (10-6, 3-0 Big West) has been a team reborn, dominating their next nine opponents with a five point average margin of victory.

During this stretch, UC Irvine is 16-2 in singles matches and features five players with active winning streaks. Noah Zamora and Rithvik Krishna have both won eight straight, Ali Amiri has won seven, Brandon Park has won six, and Thomas Smart has won four. The Anteaters #1 player, Enrique Luque Rico, has won eight of his last nine matches, the solo loss coming against Hawaii's Ilagan.

ABOUT THE HIGHLANDERS
Spring has not been as kind to UC Riverside (5-14, 0-4 Big West), who enter Saturday's showdown against UC Davis having lost their last five matches. The Highlanders are 1-15 in Big West singles competition. First serve is set for 9 a.m.
