DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis is headed home empty handed after a close loss to Big West foe Cal State Northridge on Saturday. The 4-3 loss was the Aggies' (6-10, 2-4 Big West) second in two days and third in a row. Northridge's win boosts their record to 14-3 and 4-1 in the Big West. 

The Aggies continued their stretch of doubles dominance, picking up the doubles point and starting up 1-0 for the sixth straight match.

After Northridge went up 2-1 with wins in the first two singles matches, Arianna Stavropoulos answered back to level things at two. The win was Stavropoulos' ninth in her last ten singles matches. 

Yuliia Zhytelna defeated Michelle Zell to give the Matadors the lead back and Tallia Harper was granted a win by default due to an injury to Carly Schwartzberg in the second set. 

Yana Gurevich won the final match of the day to give the Aggies a third point. 

UP NEXT
UC Davis has a quick drive to Moraga lined up to confront Saint Mary's College on Thursday at noon. The Gaels are 5-8 on the season and have lost their last three matches.
