UC Davis Defeats Delaware State to Advance to ECAC Championship

BROOKINGS, S. Dak. - UC Davis earned three MOPs en route to an ECAC Equestrian Championship semifinal victory over Delaware State this Friday at the South Dakota State Equestrian Center in Brookings.

The contest went into Friday a stalemate, after both teams gained two points in Thursday's Flat competition. Delaware State won the Fences discipline, 3-2, to start the day up a point. The lower seeded Aggies quickly repaired the deficit with a 3-1 advantage in Horsemanship, and picked up three more points in Reining to close things out at 10-8.

The three Aggie MOPs were: Tasia Anstead in Fences, Natasha Replogle in Horsemanship, and Amber Nusser in Reining.

UC Davis moves on to face the Skyhawks of UT Martin on Saturday at 7:00 a.m. PT. These two programs did not meet in the regular season due to a weather related cancellation. UT Martin defeated UC Davis when they met last year in Tennessee. Saturday's meet will be the Aggies' first time competing for the ECAC Equestrian Championship in program history.
